FEF is non-governmental organization (NGO) which was established and registered by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in august 2019, with the purpose of serving poor community in Tanzania mainly rural areas where challenges of poverty are extremely high. In alignment with SDG goal number one, FEF is seeking to achieve this goal by supporting and empowering poor and marginalized communities' particular rural areas. The organization came about as a result of wanting to reach and support in the aspect of basic human needs, rehabilitation and repairs of school infrastructures, education scholarship to children from poor families, community economic empowerment, as well as environmental management education to local communitiesOrganization Back groundFreedom Education Foundation [FEF] was primarily founded by Abraham Lauwo and Vicent Temu. The two members were raised and lived in Moshi Rural district, in Kilimanjaro region. In their life they experienced challenges facing many families related to poverty. Afterwards they thought on having organization that will help the societies in rural areas of Tanzania to alleviate poverty and enabling community live a happy life.Initially this organization started far back 2018 supporting children at primary schools by offering pens, exercise books, text books, pencils, school shoes and school fees. Also renovating schools by painting and constructing toilets. Having doing this for a long time, they thought of having legal and official organization which will support children's education, empowering societies and provision of environmental education to the communities in a wide range, particularly around Mount Kilimanjaro.In 2019, finally the Founders shared the idea with other partners and jointly decide to incorporate it as legally registered NGO's in order to serve the communities to fight and alleviate poverty through supporting education and empowering society across Tanzania.
