Holy Rosary Specialist Hospital is one of the mission hospital of the Catholic Health Service in Onitsha Archdiocese. BRIEF HISTORY OF HOLY ROSARY SPECIALIST HOSPITAL AND MATERNITY, WATERSIDE ONITSHA.

Holy Rosary Specialist Hospital and Maternity, Waterside Onitsha initially was established as a dispensary in the mid-thirties by His Lordship, Most Rev. C. Hilary the then Bishop of Onitsha to render medical service to the sick, the poor and the dying. He later invited four (4) Holy Rosary sisters from Island and with them established the maternity unity to curb the sufferings of catholic women who were traveling to Emekuku Catholic Maternity Hospital to deliver their babies in order to ensure their spiritual and physical safety. Today, this maternity unit has grown into Holy Rosary Specialist Hospital and Maternity, Waterside, Onitsha with a School Midwifery, outreach maternity units and mobile clinics attached.
