Therapy Jersey is a partnership comprising of Cliodhna Smith and Christopher Journeaux. We are both Psychotherapy Students in Advanced Training.Psychotherapy is a general term that refers to any form of therapeutic treatment contracted between a Psychotherapist and a client and can be applied to a number of different disciplines. Our approach is referred to as Integrative Psychotherapy which attempts to draw on ideas and strategies from more than one theoretical style.We offer an initial consultation to all prospective psychotherapy clients. This is a chance for us to meet and for you to express your needs and learn more about the psychotherapeutic process. You can then decide if psychotherapy is for you or not.There are many different models of counselling and psychotherapy available today: person-centered, body therapy, Gestalt, psychosynthesis, transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy, to name but a very few, all of them effective approaches to working with people. Integrative Psychotherapy encompasses many different approaches to psychotherapy, enabling the client to have their therapy tailored to their needs, rather than to the Therapist's own preferred approach. The aim of this form of therapy is for the client to ‘integrate' their personality, ie become aware of the disowned, out-of-conscious-awareness parts of themselves, thus allowing them to live more openly and authentically.
