Parent Carer Forum Jersey is an independent group developed with and for parents and carers of children and young people from birth to the age of 25 with special needs. We aim to help plan and improve services used by those families and provide support by building a community to share information and experiences.We facilitate two-way communication between parents/carers and the providers of services used by children and young people with special needs. We are supported by the States of Jersey Departments of Social Security, Health & Social Services, Education, Housing and Adult Services.The forum provides feedback and constructively challenges current services, as well as inputting into decision making and planning for future service provision.The management committee consists of parents and carers who have volunteered their time to represent the needs of young people - all who have personal experience of special needs. We work strategically with a Partnership Group which includes representatives from the States of Jersey departments that we work with.
