Since Gili Trawangan became a tourist hub, it also became a pile of trash. Local authorities do not do anything to change it, even though they have been promising to act on this problem for years. At the moment, trash is littering all streets of the island and an amazing coconut plantation has been turned into a garbage-burning furnace. Every night, the toxic fumes are poisoning the local community and tourists alike. Gili Trawangan is a paradise island and let's keep it that way! This island is small enough to make sure that it stays clean and that people respect the amazing surroundings. The objective of this Page is to pressure the local authorities to clean the island on a regular basis and to remove the garbage dump.
