SMAN 17 Bandung, is one of the State Senior High Schools in Bandung City, West Java Province, Indonesia. Started as a filial of SMAN 7 Bandung in 1982 by Drs. Muhammad Yahya Hasyim who at that time was the principal of the school. Inaugurated by Decree No. 0558/O/1984 signed by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Nugroho Notosusanto, SH., became the 17th Public High School in Bandung.
