God designed the church to be his earthly household with Jesus as the standard and chief cornerstone; and that’s what Gereja Kristus Di Indonesia (GKDI) stands for. GKDI is not a perfect church but a church striving for perfection in Christ. It is a melting pot where people from different walks of lives, gather and worship God, growing to be more like Christ.
From the youngest ones in our Kids Kingdom, the growing teens-preteens, along with their parents in our Parents Youth Integrated Ministry, Spiritual Singles, Precious Women, to all our honorable grandfathers and grandmothers in the Wanita Allah and Pria Illahi Fellowship, from Sabang all the way to Merauke, we unite as one big godly family that shares the following convictions:
There is one God of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20)
Jesus as the only Way, Truth and Life (John 14:6)
The bible as the Only Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and that we should therefore be devoted to His word.
Repentance and Baptism are necessary for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38)
Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8)
Jesus must be the Lord of our time, money and relationships (Luke 14:25-33)
We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:28-30)
We are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:28-31, 1 Peter 1:22, inclusive of but not limited to:
Devoting ourselves to one another relationships (Romans 12:10)
Helping each other to mature in Christ and to become like Christ (Colossians 1:28)
Loving the poor (Matthew 25:31-46)
Seeking and saving the lost (Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Peter 3:9).
We are committed to living our lives in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ as stated in the Holy Bible. We read and strive to abide by the Word of God and obey his commands.
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands…But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did (1 John 2:3, 5-6).
Legally, we are registered as Gereja Kristus Di Indonesia (Churches of Christ in Indonesia) at Department of Religion with the following national permit under S.K. Dirjen Bimas Kristen Protestan Depag RI No. F/Kep/HK.00.5/45/1447/1999 Tgl 3 June 1999.
