NALA, is a Javanese Sanskrit that means ‘Feeling’ and it also means ‘Aroma’ in Hindi Sanskrit and ‘Peace’ in Zambians language. This word to us induces the feeling of stillness and serenity and that is how NALA interior is envisioned.
NALA wishes to provide a refreshing and positive ambiance in the midst of the bustling scenes of Jakarta for coffee enthusiasts to enjoy. NALA’s first branch in Simatupang is surrounded by a reflective pond that lends its calm nature into the interior. The interior has simple forms and monochromatic palette to synchronize with the existing environment of the building that is abundant in natural light.
NALA in Gading Serpong is sandwiched in between the typical ruko site but we have opened the backwall to expand on our concept of light and air to provide an semi-outdoor environment. While in this branch the monochromatic palette is retained, we have introduced a mustard colour on the ceiling to enhance the warmth that NALA offers when a customer enters the space.
NALA interior takes inspirations from Nordic characteristics that incorporate natural elements into the interior. As much as NALA interior should be refined and feel effortless, we want to associate this minimalistic concept with warmth and care to create a sanctuary for customers to enjoy.
