Developed in 2003, the Pacific Open Learning Health Network (POLHN) is a platform for distance education for health care professionals in the Pacific. Funded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Pacific health ministries, it provides free online courses for continuing professional development in a range of fields.
Today, POLHN has more than 30,000 users and more than 30 learning centres across the South Pacific. It offers courses from partners such as Fiji National University (FNU), the Pacific Paramedical Training Centre (PPTC) and Medscape.
