Founded by the late Reverend Dr. Falagai Ala and Mrs. Iva P. Ala. Together with their family of eight, they established the Manumalo Baptist Church in 1975 with another close family from his Navy career, Rev. Heinrich Meredith and his charming wife, Mrs. Eleanor Pena Meredith and their two children. Later on Rev. Ala and his wife were encouraged by Rev. Dr. Robert Knutson and Dr. Martin of Lanakila Baptist Church from Waipahu, Hawaii, to buy an old bankrupt motel in Malaeimi and start a school. With the help of Rev. Dr. Jerry Falwell of Lynchburg University, the property was purchased and by the grace of God, the rest is history.
